I’m so happy to meet you! I’m Julia Kang-Reeves, CMO of Earth Therapeutics - my family’s company.

My brother, John - Founder & CEO - left behind a legal career to follow his gut and build a brand that mattered. He created our now-iconic Tea Tree Oil Foot Repair Balm - still a best-seller today - and helped pioneer wellness-forward products before “clean beauty” was a trend.

We’ve been around the block a few times – since 1993, to be exact – but we’re still standing strong. Earth Therapeutics is over 30+ years old – and our parent company is 50+ years old. Just to give you the big picture: more than 50% of businesses fail within the first 5 years, and 65% within 10 years. 

So, what’s the secret to our longevity?

In an age of private equity takeovers, we’re still family-owned and family-operated. In other words, we really care about:

• the best ingredients for our products; 
• our employees (some who’ve been with us for 30+ years); 
• our business partners – such as ULTA, who brought us onto their shelves when they were only 8 stores in Chicago (now there are 1,445 stores);

As awareness of recycling grows in the US, more states are increasing their local recycling capacities and expanding the types of plastic (#1-7) they accept in your recycling bins for curb-side collection.

Sustainability practices are more important than ever.

As a beauty & self-care company, whose products are applied to the skin, we consider seriously the types of material we use not only in our products, but also in our packaging. Committed foremost to your health and safety, we ensure the hygiene of our products at every step of the journey - from the labs and manufacturing plants; to fulfillment centers; to store shelves; and all the transit in between.

Protective barriers that resist contamination, bacteria, mold and other conditions that can potentially impact product hygiene are critical to your safety. Towards this end, we are constantly testing the most effective materials that are also beneficial to the environment. This is an on-going challenge.

Whenever possible, we are increasing the percentage of recycled plastic in our packaging, despite extra expense to us. We know that this investment will pay forward, benefitting everyone and our shared earth.

We are constantly exploring innovative avenues of sustainability with packaging manufacturers on the forefront of compostable and recyclable technology.

Education is also critical to the success of sustainability practices. Which is why we're helping to increase awareness by providing helpful and practical guidance on recycling and composting on our packaging and website.
