As America turns 250, I’ve been pondering the notion of home. I grew up on Long Island, NY. After moving to Manhattan in my 20s and then to London, I returned to the suburb of my youth – a place with “wings beating in the trees and a persistent organ sound as the full bellows of the earth blew the frogs full of life,” as described in The Great Gatsby.
Nowhere have I seen such startling sunsets – they’re arresting. Almost holy. Walking the dog, I stop in awe, astonished by their ever-changing grandeur.
It makes sense that America’s cosmic poet, Walt Whitman, also hailed from Long Island. And how the land inspired his ecstatic anthem, Leaves of Grass, inviting his soul to “lean and loafe at ease observing a spear of summer grass.”
This July 4th, let’s get into the spirit. Let’s “lean and loafe” and touch grass. Earth Therapeutics is offering 25% OFF to help you savor every summer adventure.
If you happen into my neck of the woods, Earth Therapeutics is proudly sponsoring a few exciting Long Island events:
